Bike & Equipment

For our tours, our bike of choice is a quality mountain bike with smoother touring tyres. These tyres will allow relative ease not only when cycling on asphalt, but are even suitable on gravel roads.
As all our routes have some stretches without asphalt a racing bike is not suitable but a fully suspended mountain bike is not needed neither.
Helmets are compulsory in Spain and we require all our participants to have one. Most people feel more comfortable with their own helmet, but we can also provide you with one when you rent one of our bikes.

If you want to rent one of our bikes...

  • when you register for a tour/course, fill in the appropriate field with detailed questions about your weight and size.
  • you are welcome to bring your own saddle and pedals, but check with us first if they will fit onto our bikes.
  • our bikes are well-maintained and upgraded regularly to ensure you enjoy the biking.
  •  all our bikes come equipped with a water bottle carrier and a water bottle, pump, tire levers, spare tube, lock and helmet.

If you bring your own bike...

  • tires should be the all-terrain type and in good condition.
  • your bike should have had a technical check before taking off to Spain.
  • eventually-needed special spare parts have to be brought along by yourself.
  • have a look here for information on how to transport your bike to Spain.
Repairing the bike

Technical assistance

You should be familiar with repairing a flat tire, but our guides will bring experienced knowledge and tools for emergency bike repairs and can help you in case you may have technical problems.

Luggage

We recommend you bring a handle bar bag or a daypack to keep your daily luggage in. As our van will be transporting most of the luggage for you, you do not need to bring big panniers. You can bring any kind of suitcase or backpack to be in the van.
